Arachnid, BullShooter and TouchTunes Declare June 29 as National Darts Day

New Holiday Honors the Iconic Bar Sport on the 180th Day of the Year

CHICAGO, IL – [June 17, 2025] – Arachnid, BullShooter and TouchTunes have teamed up with the Registrar at National Day Calendar to officially designate June 29 as National Darts Day—a brand-new holiday created to honor the rich history, passionate players, and cultural impact of one of the world’s most iconic bar games.

Why June 29? It’s the 180th day of the year, and in darts, a "180" represents the highest possible score in a single round. To players everywhere, it’s a number that symbolizes skill, accuracy, and the thrill of the perfect shot.

National Darts Day was proposed by Arachnid, BullShooter and TouchTunes, Arachnid, the inventor and global leader in electronic soft-tip darts and creator of the BullShooter World Tour, and TouchTunes, the largest in-venue interactive music and entertainment platform in North America. The holiday is a nod to the sport’s growth from medieval England to today’s high-tech electronic dartboards in 13,000+ bars and restaurants across the U.S. It’s also in celebration of Arachnid’s 50th anniversary and four decades of BullShooter tournaments.

How to Celebrate National Darts Day:

  • BullShooter World Records (June 29 – Livestreamed): Watch top players attempt new darts world records live. Events range from “Most Consecutive Bullseyes” to “Fastest Speed Cricket” and culminate in a Charity Exhibition Match, with $50 donated per bullseye hit (up to $5,000) to Angelina’s Song, a nonprofit that brings music and joy to children’s hospitals. The event will be livestreamed on BullShooter’s Facebook, YouTube and Twitch.
  • Play the Pro: Take on elite players in online matchups on BullShooter dartboards—are you ready for the challenge? Find the schedule on NationalDartsDay.com.
  • Trick Shot Challenge: Post your most creative dart shots on social media and X and tag BullShooter and #NationalDartsDay for a chance to be featured on BullShooter channels.
  • Darts + Music Jukebox Takeover: TouchTunes will power bars with a crowd-sourced playlist of favorite walk-on songs from players across the country. Find it on jukeboxes nationwide and in the TouchTunes mobile app.
  • Learn, Play, Repeat: Follow along on BullShooter social media for video tutorials from the pros, Q&As, and beginner tips. Whether you’re new to the board or a league veteran, there’s something for everyone.
  • Grab Your Crew and Throw Some Darts: Find a BullShooter dartboard at your local bar, grab a few friends, and celebrate National Darts Day the best way possible, by playing a few games! New players welcome.

Darts has a long and storied history, evolving from a medieval soldier’s pastime to a globally recognized sport. Soft-tip darts was invented in 1975 by Arachnid founder Rudy Allison, revolutionizing the game with electronic scoring and remote play. Today, millions of Americans compete in leagues every week, thanks to the passionate community and cutting-edge tech that keeps the game thriving.
